In 1971, director Peter Brook's "Orghast performance" was showcased during the fifth Shiraz, Iran Art Festival at Persepolis, the historical capital of the Achaemenid Empire in Shiraz, Iran. This performance featured a combination of professional and amateur actors from Peter Brook's "International Centre of Theatre Research" and some Iranian guest actors.
